Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)
2026 High School Scholarship
The Society of American Military Engineers will grant scholarships, not to exceed $2,000 (per student), to graduating high school seniors who wish to pursue studies in engineering or architecture.
Please read the following instructions carefully to ensure that you fulfill all of the requirements. Should you have questions that your parent, guidance counselor or principal cannot answer, please contact our local representative using the address or telephone number below.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Be a high school senior.
- Be a citizen of the United States at the time of application.
- Have at least a 3.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.
- Preference to students in Clay, Duval, St. Johns, Nassau or Baker county, FL, or Camden County, GA.

- Enroll in an engineering, surveying / geomatics or architecture program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB).
NOTES TO THE APPLICANT
The judging will be conducted by the local Jacksonville Post SAME Scholarship Committee on the basis of each candidate’s high school record. In order to account for the variety of academic courses offered, transcripts are required and shall be submitted as part of the application package. The courses you have taken and the credits earned from the 9th grade to the first half of the 12th grade will be used to help evaluate your application. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit, based solely on the content of the application. Applicants will be scored on factors including: Academic Grades, Level of Academic Courses Taken, Honors, Awards, Extracurricular Activities, Essay, Membership, and Financial Need.
Scholarships will be paid directly to the university’s financial aid office. All scholarships are contingent upon enrollment in a full-time status in an engineering or architecture program. Applicants must intend to earn a degree in engineering or architecture and to enter the practice of engineering or architecture.
